Modes of participation & languages

The Covid-19 pandemic and related lockdowns changed working conditions for many researchers worldwide and particularly the formats of participation in schools, workshops and meetings. At the XVII LARIM we strongly encourage in-person participation and will also allow remote attendance in a limited format. Remote participation will be possible in an attendance mode only; in order to present a contribution in-person participation will be required. Remote participants will be able to watch the conference plenary and simultaneous session talks live via streaming and participate in dedicated asynchronous discussion forums via Slack.

Following its tradition, LARIM’s official languages are Spanish, Portuguese and English. Each participant is encouraged to communicate orally using the official language they consider more efficient and covers a wider range of participants in each particular situation. Therefore, talks could be done indistinctly in any of LARIM’s official language, although abstracts, slides and posters must be provided exclusively in English.
